ANet is a nonprofit dedicated to the premise that every child in America deserves an excellent education and the opportunities it provides. We pursue our vision of educational equality in America by helping schools boost student learning with great teaching that is grounded in standards, informed by data, and built on the successful practices of educators around the country.

We help schools build on strengths

Through an integrated system of tools and training, ANet helps support great teaching that’s grounded in standards and informed by data.

Coaching

Our coach is a true professional. He shows his compassion through his words, tones, and actions, but always ‘brings it full circle’ to student achievement.
— assistant principal, LA

Each partner school receives regular visits from its ANet coach over the course of the year. Coaches learn about schools' strengths and needs, then work alongside teachers and leaders to implement four cycles of planning and instruction to meet student needs. They serve as thought partners to leaders, share best practices we've learned from our partners over the last decade, and channel the resources of our teams of specialists.

Assessments & Instructional Products

ANet has made a HUGE impact on my instruction in the classroom, understanding of the standards, and the performance of my students.
— teacher leader, MA

In order to provide equitable instruction, you and your teachers need high-quality, practical resources and data on students’ learning strengths and needs that can be translated into instructional action. ANet’s assessments and comprehensive data and instructional resource platform, myANet, provides a suite of tools at your fingertips enabling you to provide effective and equitable instruction to all students.

Professional development

What can I do in my classroom that has been successful in yours?
— Kellye Sheehy, teacher, MA

Teaching can be an isolating profession, but we all do our best when we collaborate with and learn from our peers. Our partner schools benefit from the power of our network of over 700 diverse schools across the country. We bring together district and charter, struggling and nationally recognized, new and longtime partners to collaborate and problem solve. We organize in-person events to facilitate networking and knowledge sharing among teachers and school leaders. Connecting to share techniques and strategies helps all our partners.

Our network-based professional development helps schools set priorities, develop a strong team of leaders, and boost student achievement. We provide in-person and online opportunities for school leaders and teachers to step back, assess their needs, and improve their practice.

Racial Equity and Racial Healing

I’m walking away with practical action steps I can take to recognize my own implicit bias and a reminder to LISTEN to student perspectives and how their experiences affect how they view school.
— Teacher, Ferguson-Florissant School District

The work of creating engaged, joyful communities of learning where every student can thrive does not result from standards and data alone. ANet has a dual focus on educational excellence and anti-racism to ensure more equitable outcomes for all students. Our work is different because it dismantles the racist systems and structures endemic to our education system by addressing both the structural and relational aspects of institutional racism. Over the course of this multi-year partnership, ANet will conduct an equity audit to assess your school’s unique context and needs, co-create anti-racist standards and policies, and support implementation. We will provide tools, coaching and training to address mindsets and behaviors, and develop a multi-racial, multi-generational change team of your community members to sustain the work in the long term.
